We Were Here Tomorrow FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about the We Were Here Tomorrow game.
When does We Were Here Tomorrow release?
The game unlocks on Steam on 2026-10-20, with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions launching the same day. The release date trailer from Total Mayhem Games confirms the date, and the Steam store page lists it as the global release date for all platforms.
How much does We Were Here Tomorrow cost?
The standard edition is listed at $19.99 (US Steam, confirmed in our October 19, 2026 store check), with a free Fan Edition DLC adding a digital art book, the official soundtrack and exclusive wallpapers. Total Mayhem Games also announced a 10% launch discount — verify the checkout price, as our launch-eve check showed the discount not yet applied.
Is We Were Here Tomorrow crossplay?
Yes. Cross-Platform Multiplayer is listed as a launch feature, so PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can partner with each other from day one. Both players need their own copy on their own platform and a working microphone — the crossplay guide covers the invite flow, which is being verified in the launch build.
Can you play We Were Here Tomorrow solo?
No. It is a two-player-only online co-op game: every puzzle requires one player describing what they see to a partner through the walkie-talkie, and the official description is explicit that you and a partner play together. There is no single-player mode, no split-screen, and no couch co-op anywhere in the series.
Do you need to play the previous We Were Here games first?
No. Every game in the series is a standalone story, and Tomorrow's puzzles assume no prior knowledge — the official FAQ position has always been that new players can start anywhere. If you want a warm-up, the free 2017 original or the $0.99 Expeditions: The FriendShip are the cheapest tasters; the series guide ranks every entry.
How long is We Were Here Tomorrow?
Total Mayhem Games has announced roughly 15 hours of content, making it the largest entry in the series. Treat that as a co-op playthrough estimate for the story — actual time varies with how fast your pair solves puzzles, and no official completionist figure exists yet.
Do both players need to buy the game?
Yes — each player needs their own copy on their own platform. There is no free friend-pass edition for Tomorrow (verified against the Steam store, which lists only the standard game and the free Fan Edition DLC of art book, soundtrack and wallpapers). Steam Family Sharing can share a library within a household, but two people cannot play one copy online at the same time.
What platforms is We Were Here Tomorrow on?
It launches on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with full crossplay between them. It is a current-gen-only release: there is no PS4, Xbox One or Switch version, and the PC build is Windows-only with no Mac or Linux support, per the official system requirements.
Do you need a microphone to play?
Yes — a working, compatible microphone is required for both players, stated by the developer and repeated in the PC system requirements. The walkie-talkie conversation is the gameplay itself: you describe clues your partner cannot see, they do the same for you. The voice chat page has a platform-by-platform setup checklist.
Is there a demo of We Were Here Tomorrow?
There was. A demo first appeared on April 9, 2026, returned during Steam Next Fest, and was removed from Steam on August 3, 2026 per the official announcement. The demo guide covers what it contained and how it related to the full game — demo solutions do not necessarily match the launch build.
What are the PC system requirements?
Minimum: Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB, DirectX 12 and 25 GB of storage. Recommended: Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 3060. Both tiers list a working PC-compatible microphone as required, and broadband internet is mandatory because the entire game is online co-op.
Does We Were Here Tomorrow have achievements?
Yes — Steam Achievements is listed among the store features, confirmed in our October 19, 2026 check. The full achievement list has not been published yet; it fills in when the game unlocks, and our achievements page rebuilds into a tracked checklist as soon as the launch-build list is verified.
Is We Were Here Tomorrow the sixth game in the series?
Yes. The series runs: We Were Here (2017, now free), We Were Here Too (2018), We Were Here Together (2019), We Were Here Forever (2022) and the spin-off We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip (2023). Tomorrow is the sixth and largest entry at the announced roughly 15 hours — the series guide details each one.
Will there be a walkthrough for the full game?
Yes — our walkthrough hub publishes launch-verified puzzle solutions from release day, written spoiler-aware: what each player sees, how to communicate it, and the solution up front. Nothing is published before it is verified in the launch build, so early pages mark unverified chapters as in progress rather than guessing.
Can two players on the same platform play together?
Yes — same-platform play is the base case. Crossplay extends the pool so a Steam player can partner with someone on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. What does not exist is split-screen or local play: even two people in the same room play on separate devices over the internet connection.
