We Were Here — Series Guide
What Is We Were Here?
We Were Here is the free 2017 game that started the series. Two players are trapped in separate parts of the frozen Castle Rock complex: one is an Explorer moving through its halls, the other a Librarian stationed in a tower study. Neither can survive alone — every puzzle is solved by talking to each other over the walkie-talkie.

How It Plays
The Explorer walks the rooms and describes what they see; the Librarian reads manuals, maps and symbols, and talks the Explorer through each lock. The walkie-talkie is your only tool and it is always on — there is no in-game hint system to fall back on. Sessions are short: this is the smallest entry in the series and a full run takes an evening, not a weekend.
Should You Play It Before We Were Here Tomorrow?
Story-wise, no entry in the series requires the others — every game stands on its own. Play the original if you want to see where the Explorer/Librarian formula began, or to warm up your co-op communication for Tomorrow. Skip it if you only care about the newest, largest entry; nothing in Tomorrow will confuse you.
